There is an article from 1896 "SF Call" about this place that was covered in murals that pre-dates the murals of the Original Coppa in SF by many of the same artists. Adulpho Sanchez was married to Nellie Vandegrift, sister to Fannie Vandegrift Osborne Stevenson. She actual served as the amanuensis for "Bob" Robert Louis Stevenson when he wrote Prince Otto on his sick-bed in Oakland. Link to article here about Charles Rollo Peters taking architect Willis Polk to see the murals to find them painted over. https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn85066387/1896-01-29/ed-1/seq-8/#date1%3D1895%26index%3D5%26rows%3D20%26words%3DPolk%2BPOLK%26searchType%3Dbasic%26sequence%3D0%26state%3DCalifornia%26date2%3D1896%26proxtext%3Dpolk%26y%3D0%26x%3D0%26dateFilterType%3DyearRange%26page%3D1

Hope this post finds more information about the barWebmasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03811521462386007028noreply@blogger.com
